Description

Created by Swiss ceramicist Helga Ritsch in 2010 and drawn from her personal archive, this one-of-a-kind stoneware vessel balances a wide, sweeping bowl upon a slender foot. Its dramatic silhouette is softened by a dark glossy iron glaze, with subtle variations in tone and a warm reddish edge tracing the exceptionally fine rim.

Helga Ritsch’s vessel reveals a particularly expressive exploration of proportion and balance. Freely thrown by hand in stoneware and fired at 1,280°C, its slender foot opens into an expansive, almost weightless bowl, creating a striking tension between delicacy and presence. The dark glossy iron glaze responds beautifully to its sweeping form, revealing subtle shifts of black, charcoal and warmer reddish tones across the surface and rim. Both functional object and sculptural presence, the vessel bears the individuality of Ritsch’s hand and exists as a truly peerless work.

Height 11cm, diameter 25.5cm

Stoneware

We recommend handwashing your stoneware vessel gently with a soft sponge and drying it thoroughly. Do not wash it with any cleaning agents, and avoid using an abrasive sponge. It must not be directly exposed to temperature shocks, whether from a flame, conventional oven, microwave, induction cooktop, freezer, refrigerator or other source of heat or cold. Avoid any shocks or friction. With appropriate care, it will last a lifetime and beyond, unless accidentally dropped or shattered. Over time, this vessel may develop a subtle patina, a natural transformation influenced by its purpose and usage. Evolving at its own unhurried pace, this process enriches your piece, rendering it truly one of a kind.

Every stoneware object is meticulously packaged to ensure its safe delivery. In the rare event of any cracks occurring during shipping, please contact us within a week of delivery.
