Helga Ritsch
Rounded vessel (2010)
Description
Selected from Swiss ceramicist Helga Ritsch’s personal archive, this one-of-a-kind vessel was freely hand-thrown in stoneware in 2010. Its generous, rounded form and narrow base are enveloped in a dark glossy iron glaze, with subtly textured tonal variations and a warm reddish edge that reveal themselves as the light moves across the surface.

AGOBAY Showroom ZurichThis singular vessel offers a glimpse into an earlier period of Helga Ritsch’s practice. Fired at 1,280°C, its generous curved body rises to a subtly defined rim, creating a form that feels both grounded and quietly sculptural. The dark glossy iron glaze lends the surface remarkable depth, shifting between black, charcoal and warmer tones according to where its placed and the time of day. As with all of Ritsch’s work, the subtle irregularities of the hand and making process are integral to its character. Truly unique, this is a piece beyond compare.

Stoneware
We recommend handwashing your stoneware vessel gently with a soft sponge and drying it thoroughly. Do not wash it with any cleaning agents, and avoid using an abrasive sponge. It must not be directly exposed to temperature shocks, whether from a flame, conventional oven, microwave, induction cooktop, freezer, refrigerator or other source of heat or cold. Avoid any shocks or friction. With appropriate care, it will last a lifetime and beyond, unless accidentally dropped or shattered. Over time, this vessel may develop a subtle patina, a natural transformation influenced by its purpose and usage. Evolving at its own unhurried pace, this process enriches your piece, rendering it truly one of a kind.
