BassamFellows
Spindle chair
Made to order
Description
BassamFellows’ Spindle chair has a light, almost effortless presence, balancing the warmth of walnut with a slender brass structure. Its gently shaped seat, leather cushion and curved back invite the body to settle naturally, while its open silhouette allows it to sit quietly within its surroundings. Both sculptural and welcoming, it brings comfort and character to the everyday act of sitting.

AGOBAY Showroom ZurichFounded in 2003 by Australian architect Craig Bassam and American creative director Scott Fellows, BassamFellows explores the meeting point between Modernism, craftsmanship and natural materials. The Spindle chair was inspired by a traditional English 18th-century Windsor chair encountered within the Brutalist architecture of Louis Kahn’s Exeter Library. Designed by Craig in 2012, it translates this contrast between old and new into an elegant structure, replacing traditional wooden spindles and legs with exceptionally slender satin-brass elements while retaining the warmth and tactility of carved wood.

To preserve the natural character of the walnut, clean gently with a soft cloth and avoid prolonged exposure to moisture, direct sunlight and excessive heat. With time, the material will develop a subtle patina unique to the piece.
