Natural materials, considered design and enduring craftsmanship lie at the heart of AGOBAY’s collaboration with French designer and craftsman Yann Antonucci. Having worked with western red cedar for almost three decades, Yann has developed an instinctive understanding of the wood, guided by its warmth, distinctive fragrance and individual character. Rather than imposing a uniform appearance, he lets the grain, colour and natural irregularities of each piece shape the finished work. This sensitivity finds expression in the AGOBAY Sugi lamp, the first furniture piece created together and handcrafted exclusively for AGOBAY in a strictly limited edition. Named after the Japanese word for cedar, the lamp combines a slender tripod base with a generous shade formed from slim, curved sections of wood. Sculptural yet functional, it reflects a mutual belief in objects that bring beauty and a quiet presence to everyday life, designed to be lived with and appreciated over time.
