AGOBAY Showroom ZurichThis exclusive AGOBAY Ceremonial Matcha Set brings together four essential elements for an elevated tea ritual.
The wheel-thrown unglazed porcelain matcha bowl by Therese Müller features a wide mouth and rounded base. Its durability comes from the high-temperature sintering process.
Our ceremonial-grade matcha is crafted from an Asahi variety of superior tencha near the Uji River, Kyoto. Ground slowly with a traditional stone mill, it delivers rich umami, bright astringency, and the scent of a green temple garden.
The OGATA whisk, or ‘chasen’, is carved with precision from a single piece of bamboo, with fine bristles that create an exceptionally smooth foam.
Paired with it is the ‘chashaku’, or bamboo spoon, a cherished object in the world of tea ceremony. Hand-carved by skilled artisans, it’s for scooping matcha powder into the bowl.
We also offer a Ceremonial Pair Set with two matcha bowls, instead of one. And an Essential Set with matcha tea, a whisk and spoon. All sets are presented in an AGOBAY box.
Bowl: porcelain, unglazed/sintered Tea: Kyoto Uji Matcha Whisk and Spoon: bamboo
Matcha Bowl:
Designed to be a functional everyday essential, this porcelain object is not only durable and dishwasher-safe, but also has the potential to last a lifetime unless accidentally dropped or shattered.
Matcha: Brewing recommendation: Put 1/2 teaspoon of matcha in a bowl, pour 80ml of 80°C hot water over it and whisk with a bamboo whisk until frothy. We recommend storing it in the fridge to preserve its full aroma.
Bamboo Whisk & Spoon:
Before each use, soak the prongs of your chasen in hot water for a few seconds to make them softer and more flexible, reducing the risk of breakage. After use, gently rinse the chasen with warm water, avoiding detergent, to maintain its natural beauty and quality. Ensure the chasen is thoroughly dried before storing it with the bristles facing up in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. The cleaning process applies to the Bamboo Spoon, too.
Every object is meticulously packaged to ensure its safe delivery. In the rare event of any cracks occurring during shipping, please contact us within a week of delivery, and we will promptly replace the damaged items. As our objects are crafted in small batches and often made to order by our artisans, we regretfully do not accept any returns.
