Matcha Workshop
The Matcha Workshop offers an introduction to matcha through taste, attention and preparation. Conceived as an accessible yet immersive session, it is designed to give guests a first experience of matcha in a way that feels both approachable and considered. Rather than focusing on technical knowledge, the workshop centres on direct encounter: tasting, observing and preparing matcha with care.
Over the course of 90 minutes, guests are guided through a tasting of different matcha, allowing the nuances of each to reveal themselves gradually. Variations in flavour, texture and intensity become perceptible side by side, creating space to discover what resonates most personally. This is followed by an introduction to preparation. Guests learn how to whisk matcha themselves, exploring how subtle changes in proportion, movement and technique can shape the final cup. The intention is not to arrive at one fixed way of making matcha, but to begin understanding how it can be prepared according to individual taste.
Held in an intimate setting with no more than eight participants, the workshop focuses on the essentials: tasting, preference and preparation. It can be experienced as a complete event in itself, or as a gentle precursor to the AGOBAY Matcha Ritual launching this autumn, allowing guests to become familiar with its foundations before choosing whether to engage more deeply over time.
